Living in Australia, the silhouette you don't want to see

The Aquarium is great - both Mollie and Joel love the shark tank.
I'm not so sure I want to see what I'm trying to avoid in the ocean. :/

Joel in his element.

We decided to go to Sydney Aquarium at Darling Harbour (city) and to make Joel's year, we took the monorail.

Bull ant invasion.
We were finding a few large bull ants in the lounge early in the morning, and then one day, they all decided to leave the nest. Problem! The nest was the Cable TV box (Sky TV) - and they bite.
There were hundreds of them trying to escape Anita and her insect repellent.
In the end, I had to run out of the house with the box and dismantle the unit - only to find hundreds more still inside, and thousands of eggs, waiting to hatch.....

"We're coming home, we're coming home..."
106 days until we leave for home.
Yes, we finally booked our flights back for a visit. Dust down your drinking boots and pray for some warm weather!
We leave 18th Sept, and go to Disneyland in Hong Kong for a few days, then off to UK.

We need to come back to the UK to realign... Iain's taste in cars is going down hill rapidly, and can almost see the merit of owning a Ute... and a bright yellow one at that.
Just make sure it's not too cold, as we don't own coats anymore. :)

North, towards Avalon and Palm Beach (where Home and Away are filmed)

South of Collaroy, Dee Why and on towards Manly. We are about 15kms from the city.

Mixing with the locals.
We have now moved into our rental in Collaroy Plateau.
We went for a walk down to the headland at Collaroy, as part of the Northern Beaches peninsula.

Mollie starting her second school.
Collaroy Plateau Primary School and her class 'Tassie Tigers'.

sightseeing.
Joel did brave a second go, but Mollie had had enough.

Poor image quality, but there was a slide in Luna Park and the kids wanted a go.
Not sure who is more terrified! LOL!

Driving a pink Suzuki around a track... oh to be child again, and be happy with the simple things.

Luna Park.
Saturday afternoon, we decided to find some action in the city.

An afternoon in Manly.
No, not a gay bar... Manly is a beach suburb on the North Headland and Northern Beaches.
Something that Perth lacks. Lot's of cafes and bars along the beach.

Cremorne Point.
The view from my run. I have found an 8K route around Cremorne and Mosman which has quite nice views of the city.
I wont miss the apartment, but will the views.

Meet the locals.
Thankfully not dangerous, but lots of them in the trees. Mollie is not to keen to walk under them. Wait until she meets a Huntsman.

So we finally made it to Sydney.
We have temporary accommodation in a 2-bed apartment in Cremorne Point. This view is very close to our apartment.
The apartment is tiny and it didn't take long for us to receive a note under the door about the noise. :/

Two days, two containers and 200 boxes later and we are finally out of Greenwell Street.

Here we go again...
